Program Overview
Our Educational Approach
We believe in celebrating the uniqueness of every child that comes through our doors. Each activity is tailored to support the individual child’s needs, interests, and developmental pace—whether they’re mastering their first cartwheel or diving deep into imaginative play.
At Super Kids Playschool, we recognize that young children learn through movement. Physical activity is not separate from cognitive development—it is foundational to it. As children develop strength, coordination, and body awareness in our gymnastics-rich environment, they simultaneously build confidence, focus, problem-solving skills, and a sense of capability that extends into all areas of learning.
School Readiness Through Movement and Self-Regulation
Our program uses Tools of the Mind, a research-based curriculum that prioritizes executive functioning and self-regulation—the skills that research shows are the strongest predictors of school success. While many programs focus on academics like letters and numbers, we know that children who thrive in kindergarten are those who can follow directions, manage emotions, collaborate with peers, and sustain focus. Our unique gymnastics environment naturally builds these critical skills through physical challenges, goal-setting, and problem-solving.
Our dedicated team of hand-picked educators is committed to facilitating a love for learning and movement in every member of the Super Kids family. We provide intentional, evidence-based instruction—not supervision. With our unique gymnastics facilities as our guide, we create a nurturing environment where your child can thrive, building physical competence, emotional resilience, executive functioning skills, and a lifelong passion for learning through play and exploration.
Give your child the gift of education in a nurturing and inspiring setting where growth happens in motion—at Super Kids Playschool.

Play based learning
Make-believe play is at the heart of learning at Super Kids Playschool. Through intentional, scaffolded play experiences, children develop the self-regulation and executive functioning skills they need for school success.
- Children choose their play scenario and plan their play each day, developing the ability to think before acting and follow through on goals
- Children engage in small group make-believe play, practicing role-taking, problem-solving, and collaboration with their peers
- Teachers guide children to extend and deepen their play, building language skills and imaginative thinking
- Children experience uninterrupted play time with rich props and materials that spark creativity and exploration
- Play scenarios are connected to real-world experiences, building the background knowledge children need to engage fully
- Through play, children naturally practice self-regulation, impulse control, and the ability to manage emotions—skills that are the foundation of school readiness
Circle Time
Circle time is a structured gathering where children and educators come together to start the day with intentional, purposeful activities. This is where learning about community, language, and self-regulation begins.
- Children practice active listening and focus skills as they engage in songs, chants, fingerplays, and games together
- Calendar time, weather practice, and counting activities build language, number awareness, and attention to detail
- Opening Group activities are specifically designed to develop working memory and self-regulation skills—critical foundations for school success
- Children learn to take turns, respect peers’ contributions, and participate in group decision-making
- Songs and movement activities help children transition into the day while strengthening gross motor skills and coordination
- This predictable routine provides security and sets clear expectations for learning throughout the day, helping children feel calm and ready to explore
Snack Time
Snack time at Super Kids Playschool is more than just nutrition—it’s a meaningful community-building experience where children practice important life and social skills.
- Children bring nutritious, nut-free snacks that they can open and eat independently, building self-help and fine motor skills
- Snack time is an unrushed social experience where children sit together with teachers and peers, building positive relationships and a sense of belonging
- Children practice turn-taking, sharing their thoughts and ideas, and develop effective communication skills
- Children develop number sense and math awareness through casual conversation (counting snacks, identifying quantities)
- Through shared mealtimes, children experience the joy and comfort of eating together, strengthening classroom community and their sense of security
Free Choice
During free choice time, children direct their own learning by selecting between play activities and process art. This child-led time is essential for building independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
- Children make their own choices about what to explore, building decision-making skills and independence
- Play activities allow children to continue developing through make-believe, construction, and imaginative exploration
- Process art experiences emphasize exploration and experimentation over final products, allowing children to focus on the creative journey
- Through process art, children develop expressive language skills, nurture social and emotional growth, and strengthen thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Process art supports fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and helps children practice focus and extend their attention span through trial-and-error and experimentation
- Process art provides an outlet for self-expression and authenticity, helping children communicate feelings and ideas while managing emotions
- Teachers provide varied materials and ample time, trusting children as capable creators without directing the outcome
- There is no “right way” to create—the process matters far more than the finished product, freeing children to take risks and explore
Graphics Practice
Graphics Practice is a structured, playful activity where children develop the fine motor and self-regulation skills essential for writing—all while having fun with music and imagination.
- Children draw on whiteboards with markers, stopping and starting in response to musical cues, learning to inhibit impulses while also remembering the shape they’re representing
- Children practice pencil grasp, components of letter formation, and self-regulation through pre-writing activities set in imaginative scenarios
- Children use private speech to help them remember how and what to write, building language and metacognitive skills as they verbalize their thinking
- Children practice holding multiple ideas in their brain at once—drawing a shape while listening to music and stopping on cue—which is vital to self-regulation development
- The playful, musical nature of Graphics Practice makes fine motor practice enjoyable and engaging rather than drill-based
- Teachers work with individual students on their specific goals, so some children may be tracing, others writing first names, and others writing first and last names, with improvement visible over time
- Graphics Practice prepares children for writing success in kindergarten and beyond
Gymnastics/Acro/Aerial Arts
At Super Kids Playschool, our access to the Velocity Complex’s professional gymnastics and aerial arts facilities sets us apart. Children develop through intentional, developmentally-appropriate movement experiences guided by certified educators in gymnastics, acro dance, circus arts, and IntelliDance.
Why Early Physical Activity Matters
Research shows that structured physical activity in early childhood significantly improves both motor skills and cognitive development, including language, academic achievement, attention, and working memory. Physical activity programs for preschoolers show improvements in locomotor skills, object control skills, and cognitive development. Regular physical activity in early childhood promotes a sense of accomplishment, positive self-esteem, and understanding of shape, spatial awareness, and directionality.
Gymnastics as an Early Entry Sport
Gymnastics is considered an “early entry sport,” meaning children as young as preschool age can safely and meaningfully participate in foundational gymnastics training. Skills learned in gymnastics give young athletes the opportunity to develop skills that can be easily translated to any sport. Foundational gymnastics at a young age prepares children for all sports and helps foster lifelong positive fitness habits, building mental focus, social skills, balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness.
Through tumbling, beams, and floor work, children develop confidence, body awareness, and the physical foundation that benefits all future athletic pursuits.
Aerial Arts: A Unique Addition
Our access to aerial silks, lyra (hoop), and aerial hammocks offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Aerial activities promote physical strength and flexibility, develop motor skills and spatial awareness, build confidence and self-esteem, and enhance cognitive skills. Aerial arts also support sensory integration, motor skill development, improved concentration and body awareness, social and emotional skill building, and anxiety and stress relief. Children with sensory sensitivities often respond particularly well to the calming effects of aerial hammocks, which provide a sensory getaway for all children. The sensation of being wrapped or cocooned in the aerial fabric provides deep pressure similar to being gently held, while gentle movement offers vestibular input that helps with balance and body awareness. The hammock provides sensory input in a tranquil, fun, therapeutic environment while building focus and attention.
Individualized Assessment & Developmental Milestones
Our certified teachers continuously assess each child’s progress to ensure developmental milestones are being met across fine motor, gross motor, and coordination skills. Every child progresses at their own pace—whether they’re learning their first forward roll, mastering a handstand, or exploring the excitement of hanging silks. There is no competition; the focus is on individual growth, persistence, and joy in movement.
Movement at Super Kids Playschool isn’t a separate “PE” class—it’s integrated into our daily learning and is fundamental to how we support school readiness, cognitive development, and lifelong confidence in children’s bodies and abilities.
Closing & Goodbye
The end of the day at Super Kids Playschool focuses on independence, responsibility, and self-confidence—skills that serve children far beyond preschool.
- Children participate in classroom clean-up, taking responsibility for shared spaces and building community
- Children practice putting on their own socks, packing their back packs, and gathering their belongings—developing both motor skills and independence
- These self-help routines build confidence and a sense of accomplishment, preparing children for school success
- Research shows that children involved in regular responsibilities early on tend to be more independent and capable throughout childhood and adulthood
As your child leaves Super Kids Playschool each day, they carry with them the growing confidence that comes from knowing they can take care of themselves. This is the foundation of lifelong independence and capability.
