Frequently Asked Questions

Programming
How many days per week is preschool?
We offer 2, 3 and 5 half-day options. Morning classes are 9am to 12pm. Afternoon classes are 12:45 to 3:45pm. Monday/Wednesday/Friday program is for 4 and 5 year olds. Tuesday/Thursday am is for 2.5 and 3 year olds, Tuesday/Thursday pm for 3 & 4 year olds.
Do I need to provide a snack?
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing a healthy, nut-free snack and a labeled water bottle. We suggest 2 or 3 items that children can open themselves that take 10 to 15 minutes to eat. Please send water only – no juice or juice boxes.
Is there outdoor playtime?
We generally do not go outside.
How much time do you spend doing gymnastics/acro?
We spend 60 minutes at the end of each class in either the dance studio or the gym.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes, children need to be toilet-trained. Please provide a change of clothes for your child as we understand that accidents happen!
How will my child's progress be reported to me?
We use Brightwheel to communicate regularly with parents, sharing feedback, daily updates, progress reports, newsletters, etc.
Teachers will occasionally provide updates at pickup, time permitting. Physical literacy Report Cards are sent home at the end of the year.
Are there volunteer and/or fundraising commitments?
There are no volunteer or fundraising commitments.
Where can I find your Handbook?
Policies
How does the waitlist work?
A waitlist is maintained and the order is strictly adhered to. If a spot becomes available, the Director will contact you by email and you will have 48 hours to respond before the next family on the list is contacted. Please keep an eye on your email, as we are not able to hold a spot if messages bounce back.
What is the withdrawal policy?
Withdrawal notice must be received in writing at least one month before the withdrawal date (for example, March 1 for an April 1 withdrawal). A withdrawal date after April 30 results in forfeit of the initial deposit. There are no refunds or pro-rating for partial month attendance. If a child is away for a period of time and will return later in the year, full monthly fees are payable in the interim.
What happens if I am late picking up my child?
Pick-up is 12 pm for morning classes and 3:45 pm for afternoon classes. If children are repeatedly picked up late (more than 3 occurrences), a late fee of $1 per minute per child applies for the time your child remains in our care. Please message the teachers if you anticipate being late. Late pick-up fees are added to your account and must be cleared by the next time tuition is due.
When can my child return after being sick?
Children may return once they have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours. If your child has been prescribed antibiotics, they may return 24 hours after the first dose has been given. A doctor’s note may be required before returning. Please let us know through Brightwheel if your child will be absent.
Do you ever cancel classes?
Super Kids Playschool reserves the right to cancel up to two days per season due to inclement weather, illness, facility issues or other unforeseen circumstances, without makeup classes or monetary compensation. Families are notified as early as possible by Brightwheel message. Cancellations beyond two days per season are handled on a case-by-case basis.
