The teacher who gets your child ready for kindergarten is also their acro coach.

That is the whole idea. Young children build focus, self-regulation and problem solving through their bodies, not in spite of them. So we did not bolt a gym class onto a preschool. Our educators hold teaching credentials and certification in acro and gymnastics, working in a 4,100 square foot facility at Velocity Complex that is ours alone during school hours.

We follow FLIGHT, Alberta’s early learning curriculum, with Tools of the Mind woven in to build self-regulation and focus, alongside hands-on Process Art. Play-based, and serious about kindergarten readiness. A maximum of six three-year-olds per teacher, and eight in the four and five year old program.

No second drop-off for gymnastics. No Saturday mornings across town. No fundraising, and no volunteer commitments.

Tools of the mind: Neuroscience meets developmental theory

Super Kids Playschool is honoured to have been chosen as recipient of this year’s Tools of the Mind Curriculum and Professional Development Scholarship. Our son absolutely loves attending the school! He was quite nervous the first week, they made him feel assured and comforted (They still do on his off days if he’s having a hard time) he’s been learning so much. He’s a very energetic jumping bean and definitely gets that energy out in their gym/acro time! He said his favourite part is the balance beam, jumping around and absolutely loves his teachers! Every night he asks if he’s going to school when he wakes up!

My daughter has been at Super Kids for just over 2 weeks now and we love it so much. The teachers are so kind and helpful and she’s been learning so much. She comes home singing songs and telling stories and she’s so so so happy to go there twice a week. She hated leaving us prior to this and it’s been a seamless transition. Highly recommend Super Kids Playschool if you’re looking for a playschool for your little! Their team is great and keep parents involved through the app and newsletters which is so lovely to have!
